The inner rule slides up from behind to extend the height as needed. The marking here have been less exposed to the elements, as seen in the first image at the bottom on the grid. It’s one of our unusual finds, which will look fabulous in an interior as a statement piece. The rule is made in Paris. circa 1920s. and is marked on the back with a Ivory l (celluloid) label Ste des …. INETIERS Constructeur. PARIS. Most likely the name of a building company or merchant.
